Sass + Me offers beautiful, handmade moccasins for babies, in sizes 0-6m to 3 years. Created and designed in East Sussex, by mum Rebecca Crosthwaite, the shoes are made from soft-soled suede and intended specifically for a small child’s developing feet. Her inspiration for the styles comes from the 12 years she spent in East Africa, and the vibrant colours and bold prints translate beautifully onto little feet.
Rebecca had sought to find comfortable, fashionable and safe, development-appropriate footwear for each of her five children, but consistently struggled to find affordable, quality shoes that could adequately provide support for little feet. Her requirements were simple: a stylish shoe that offers walking support; protection on rough and hard surfaces; comfort in both hot and cold weather; and is easy to put on and, most importantly, stay on. Disappointed with the lack of options available for children under two, she set out to create her own brand, producing beautiful genuine leather moccasins, and so Sass & Me was born.
Wide and spacious with plenty of wriggle room for toes, Sass + Me moccasins are specially designed to allow infants to stretch and move their feet, to avoid interruptions in their foot development. The shoes are lightweight, yet offer firm support, and allow a baby’s toes to grip the ground, making it easier for them to walk in and to develop a sense of balance and coordination, unlike traditional hard-soled shoes. They are easy to put on and fit securely so that they won’t come off or cause a child to trip, ensuring protection for sensitive feet during the most important time of their development.
